Safety and Rescue Skills Builder

Why not join us for a day to deepen your knowledge of safety and rescue techniques? This course is aimed at people who are looking to further develop their safety and rescue skills within the sheltered water environment. We will specifically be looking at mixed craft rescues covered within the Paddlesport Instructor and Paddlesport Leader assessments. These include recover a capsized paddler and their equipment from deep water, recover an upright and incapacitated paddler and their equipment to shore in deep water, rescue an unconscious paddler and their equipment, and perform an effective self rescue. We will develop your problem solving ability to be able to effectively complete the rescues of a range of craft (eg canoe, kayak, SUP) from your chosen craft.

Duration:
The course will normally be run over 1 day, however there is the option to book a half day with reduced course content and practice time at a reduced price. Please contact us for half day options.

Pre-requisites: 
Candidates should also hold the 2 Star Award / Paddle Explore Award or be of that ability. The course contains a fair amount of swimming, so candidates should be confident in the water. Ideally you should have completed the Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course as this is a pre-requisite for the Paddlesport Instructor Award, however it is not required as a pre-requisite for the Paddlesport Leader Award.

Course Price:
£90 per person inclusive of all your kit and equipment.
