The Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT) course will equip you with the key safety and rescue skills to deal with common emergencies, and forms the backbone for all safety and rescue training throughout the British Canoeing scheme. By the end of the course you will have the knowledge to ensure the safety of yourself and others, and to equip you with the basic rescue skills to help anyone in difficulty.
It is highly recommended that all paddlers and bank based helpers attend this training course. It is also a pre-requisite for the Paddlesport Instructor to attend, so if you're thinking of entering the coaching scheme then this is a must for you.
The course will be run over 1 day.
Candidates should also hold the 2 Star Award / Paddle Explore Award or be of that ability. The course contains a fair amount of swimming, so candidates should be confident in the water.
£80 per person inclusive of all your kit and equipment and certification fees
Other Options: Want to get into Leadership? Have you considered the Paddlesport Leader or White Water Leader Award? Want to get into Coaching? Have you considered the Coach Award or Paddlesport Instructor Award?
