BCU Foundation Safety and Rescue Training

Course Aims:
Skilfully delivered by centre owner Paul Bull, UKCC Level 3 Coach, this Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT) course will equip you with the key safety and rescue skills to deal with common emergencies, and forms the backbone for all safety and rescue training throughout the BCU scheme.  By the end of the course you will have the knowledge to ensure the safety of yourself and others, and to equip you with the basic rescue skills to help anyone in difficulty.

It is highly recommended that all paddlers and bank based helpers attend this training course. It is also a pre-requisite for the UKCC Level 1 Coaching Award to attend, so if you're thinking of entering the coaching scheme then this is a must for you.

The course will be run over 1 day.

Candidates should be over 14 years of age. Candidates should also hold the BCU 2 Star Award or be of that ability. The course contains a fair amount of swimming, so candidates should be confident in the water.
